Soldering 1 - Bracelet M1

This workshop will introduce silver soldering to enable you to make connections such as jump rings and secure pins and findings. You will make a bracelet, including a clasp. This is the prerequisite class needed before taking other soldering classes.

Soldering II Stone Set Pendant - Intermediate M2

Students will learn the ancient traditional technique of bezel setting a cabochon (flat bottomed) stone in fine and sterling silver. Students will fabricate a pendant using sheet/wire and cast components; giving quality time to learning the bezel setting technique. Students may bring their own stones/glass/object to set - dimensions to be no larger than 1" in diameter. Prereq. Soldering 1 within the past 18 months or your soldering skills are up-to-date.

Soldering II Stone Set Earrings - Intermediate M3

Students will fabricate a pair of bezels to seat smaller scale stone/s for either a stud or dangle earring design of their choice. The use of pre-fabricated bezels will be discussed along with design/weight and functionality during the design/making process. Students may bring their own stone/object/glass pieces to be set (dimensions to be no bigger than 12mm or 1/2" diameter with a flat base). Prereq. Soldering 1 within the past 18 months or your soldering skills are up-to-date.

Stone setting has just been made easy; with the use of a few burs and flex shaft, anyone can easily set Chatons in a ring or anything you want to add a little sparkle. Students will learn to size burs to properly fit stones; and proper usage of the flex shafts.

Create flair and movement with this class. Students will learn to shape and form a brass ring or copper ring and then lock an inner ring that will spin. Skill level: confident beginner/intermediate.

Learn the basic concepts in soldering while creating a Spiral Chain. By the end of this class you will have an understanding of necessary tools and materials to successfully solder simple joints. Students will complete a spiral bracelet by the end of class. Skill level: confident beginner/intermediate.
