Patricia Healey Fabricated Copper Components

Patricia Healey’s creations are handmade from copper, creating designs and textures that are reminiscent of the beauty in nature. The crafting process includes a patina and coat of lacquer, this ensures that the copper component will last through the years without changing colors, oxidizing or tarnishing.

Copper is a hot beading component and has always been gaining respect and admiration throughout the beading and crafting industry. Create something completely unique with these hand-crafted folk art art copper pendants.

This product line is not about symmetry and perfection, but more charismatic and asymmetrical.

THE MAGIC OF NIOBIUM!

Want to learn more? Star’s Beads is excited to bring in guest instructor Marti Brown this November 11th-12th to inspire us in the world of niobium.

Have you ever heard of niobium? (Nb) is a pure element originally called columbium. Columbium was found to be two separate metals existing in the same ore; niobium and tantalum. Pure niobium is soft, ductile and malleable and easily fabricated by hammering, sawing, filing, bending, etc. Niobium absorbs electrons from oxygen, carbon and nitrogen forming alloys at temperatures over 600¡. It cannot be soldered due to this reactivity. Niobium is resistive to acids and alkalines, making it hypoallergenic.
